Summer is just about upon us. To us, here in the great state of Texas, it's already feeling a lot like summer even though summer officially begins on the 21st of this month. :)
With everything pre-heating, for what will certainly be a pretty stifling summer (we're definitely no stranger to that!), it's time to dip our toes into our swimming pools and take some time to relax and cool off with our family and friends. So, with that in mind, check out the link to this month's newsletter. I have a pool-related history lesson, pool safety tips, hurricane prep (I know. I know. We don't want to think about that!), and some ideas for dad this Father's Day (You don't want to forget to treat dad on his special day!). Also, our spring and summer hours kicked in on March 1st. We're open weekdays from 9 AM until 6 PM and on Saturdays from 9 AM until 5 PM. Our office is open weekdays starting at 8 AM until 5 PM. You can also text or email us (please remember we only answer during business hours) at 832-780-5955 or info@sweetwaterpoolandpatio.com. Wishing everyone an excellent start to the summer! See y'all next month!

In the meantime, be sure to keep your skimmer baskets and pump baskets checked and cleared of any debris. Proper circulation is, as we all know, very important to the "health" of your swimming pool. QUICK NOTES: *If your system is automated with controls, freeze mode will automatically kick in and stay in place as long as the temps are at 32 degrees or lower. *If you have time clock trippers you will need to remove both the ON and OFF trippers so that the equipment will continuously run. **For more information: If you still have your pool operational, make sure you run the water through the filtration system while we are under the threat of freezing temperatures. As the outside temps fall below freezing, and your pool is not winterized, make sure to run your system as long as the temps are below 32 degrees. Should you have an equipment failure or power outage that prevents you from running your system, make sure to turn the breakers off and remove all the winterizing plugs from your equipment to keep it from freezing and bursting. Every pump has a plug in the basket chamber that should be removed – including the automatic cleaner’s booster pump. The filter tank will either have a plug or a cap that needs to be removed to let the water drain out. And if you have a chlorinator, salt cell, or heater remove any plugs on them. Lastly, protect your skimmer against freeze by stuffing an empty – but with the top secured – ½ gallon milk jug or 2-liter soda bottle into the skimmer and put the skimmer lid back on. You want something collapsible that will absorb the expansion of water into ice to keep the plastic skimmer body from cracking. If you need a LIFELINE feel free to PHONE A FRIEND at 713-665-4441, text us at 832-780-5955, or email us at info@sweetwaterpoolandpatio.com. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Everyone! The holidays are definitely in full swing! Here's hoping that during this busy time of year you're able to take some time to enjoy it with family and friends.
And be sure to check out the link to this month's newsletter. I have included ideas on things to do in the Houston area during the holidays along with an article on recipes galore so you can get your Christmas grub on! Lastly, I included an article about mosaic tile seascapes for your pool. As we look ahead to 2023, all of us at Sweetwater Pool & Patio would like to thank you for allowing us to take care of your swimming pool needs. We look forward to continuing our service to you in the upcoming year! Hello and Happy November y'all! Hard to believe we only have a couple more months left before we enter into 2023! But, let me back up a little and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I know we're all looking forward to a day spent with family and friends, or even just a little extra time to ourselves.
While you're thinking about what you're going to do over the long Thanksgiving weekend, take a moment to check out the link to this month's newsletter below. I've included an article about safety features for your pool, a man who likes to thaw his turkey in his swimming pool, and some ideas for Thanksgiving (should you need a few!). If you have any questions, or comments, you can drop me a line at kitt@sweetwaterpoolandpatio.com. I would love to hear from ya! Until next time! What? Fall already? Wasn't it just summer? Wait, we're in Texas. It still feels pretty summery out there! Which, for a lot of us, is a good thing! If you're like me, you're not ready to put those sandals up in the closet yet and fish out any fall/winter clothes!
This month our newsletter features the deepest diving pool in the world, information about stray voltage in pools, and some things to do in the Houston area this fall. Also, wanted to remind y'all to check those pool and spa heaters! This is a great time to do it before you decide to crank it up and use the spa or swim in a nice, warm pool. Keep us in mind should you need any spa products as we have oodles in stock! And, with leaf season upon us, be sure to check your skimmer bags and cleaner bags regularly to see if they may need to be emptied. Have any questions or comments?
